Production Conditions and Quality of Clothes

EN | Happy Monday! I’m still totally stressed because of university and my upcoming exams. So that’s the reason why I’m not blogging regular like I normally do. From the middle of August it’s going back to normal her on my blog and social media accounts because that’s the time I’m finally done with all my exams.
However enough about university and let’s get right into the topic the article is actually about. First things first: This is not a classic outfit post because there is a quite long history behind the look and a few thoughts I want to share with you. Also let me just clarify that I’m not an expert at any of these topics if it’s sustainability or production conditions of clothes. This article is more a collection of my thoughts about these two topics. And maybe they help me and also you to think more about the topics and to do some more research about it.
The romper was actually be planed to be part of a cooperation that I had to cancel because of the bad quality of this piece. I personally really have the feeling that the quality of clothes and accessories are getting worse and worse. The company are producing as cheap as possible, a lot of customers are really happy about the low price and don’t really care about the bad quality. I personally also shop clothes that are produced in Asia and obviously under bad conditions. I definitely changed my shopping habits since I write this blog and think more about the pieces I buy but I still buy clothes at stores like H&M. 
A few weeks ago I got an email with a cooperation request from a brand that’s on Asos Marketplace and I have to say that I was really happy about the request because it sounds amazing. As you know I also collaborated with SheIn and I expected that the pieces will have the same quality. I personally was really shocked about the clothes I actually got from the brand. One was supposed to be a dress but was a romper instead and the three other pieces I got were stitched really bad and were broken on the stitches after wearing them once. Something that was even more shocking for me is that the clothes were full of chemistry. I always wash my clothes before wearing them. But you really don’t want to know what the water looked like after washing them. I have really never seen anything like this before when it comes to clothes. Since then I really think about the bad conditions under the pieces are produced and how injurious to the workers health that must be. I know that I won’t stop buying immediately at low budget shops like H&M here in Germany. But I definitely finally started to think more about investing into pieces that are better quality and are produced under better conditions.
However I decided to show you two of the outfits anyway, because I’m super happy about how the pictures and the whole look of them turned out. And obviously I also wanted to share my experience and thoughts with you. For the look I decided to combine the romper with a jeans jacket and a red bag because the colors of both pieces fits perfectly to the pattern of the romper. To make the look even more sporty and casual I decided to wear my Adidas Superstars. What do you think about the outfit combination?

DE | Hallo ihr Lieben! Ich bin immer noch total im Klausuren bzw. Unistress. Daher wird es auch weiterhin noch etwas ruhiger auf dem Blog zugehen. Ab Mitte August bin ich mit allen Prüfungen durch und habe endlich wieder mehr Zeit, was bedeutet das endlich wieder mehr Beiträge auf meinem Blog zu sehen sein werden und ich auch wieder aktiver auf meinen Social Media Kanälen bin.
Aber genug davon und lasst uns über das eigentliche Thema dieses Blogposts reden. Bzw. lasst mich eins gesagt haben: Hinter diesem Outfit steckt eine etwas längere Geschichte. Lasst mich von vornherein aber klarstellen, dass ich absolut kein Experte in dem Gebiet Produktionsbedingungen von Kleidungsstücken oder auch Nachhaltigkeit dieser bin. In diesem Artikel geht es eher um eine Gedankensammlung, die mich selbst und vielleicht auch den ein oder anderen zum nachdenken und weiter nachforschen anregen soll.
Eigentlich war der Romper ein Teil einer Kooperation, die ich im Endeffekt abgesagt habe, da er nach dem fotografieren dieses Outfits bereits an den Nähten aufgegangen ist. Ich persönlich habe wirklich immer mehr das Gefühl das die Qualität von Kleidungsstücken und auch Accessories extrem nachlässt. Die Firmen produzieren so günstig wie möglich, die Kunden freuen sich über die niedrigen Preise und schauen gerne über die schlechte Qualität hinweg. Ich persönlich kaufe auch bei Geschäften, die in Asien produzieren und wo die Produktionskosten eindeutig unter einem akzeptablen Mindestlohn für die Arbeiter sind. Seitdem ich diesen Blog führe denke ich definitiv mehr über meine Kleidungskäufe nach, aber shoppe dennoch bei Firmen, die günstig und unter schlechten Produktionsbedingungen ihre Ware produzieren.
Vor ein paar Wochen hatte ich eine Kooperationsanfrage von einem Unternehmen in meinem Postfach, welches bei Asos Marketplace vertreten ist. Ich muss sagen, dass ich mich zu dem Zeitpunkt sehr über die Kooperationsanfrage gefreut hatte und auch mit großer Erwartung auf die Kleidungsstücke gewartet hatte. Wie ihr wisst hatte ich bereits eine etwas längere Kooperation mit SheIn, von dessen Qualität ich positiv überrascht war, weshalb ich keine Bedenken wegen der Qualität dieser Firma hatte. Wie bereits oben erwähnt wurde ich beim Erhalt der Kleidungsstücke wachgerüttelt und mir ist endlich mal wieder bewusst geworden unter was für Bedingungen die Kleidungsstücke produziert werden. Drei der Vier Kleidungsstücke, die ich zugeschickt bekommen habe, sind direkt nach dem fotografieren an den Nähten von alleine aufgerissen. Und über die Verarbeitung der Produkte allgemein möchte ich lieber gar nicht erst sprechen. Erschreckende als die eigentliche Qualität der Klamotten war für mich die Tatsache, dass sich meine Badewanne mit verfärbt hat als ich die Klamotten vor dem Tragen mit der Hand waschen wollte. Diese Mengen an Chemikalien in den Klamotten ist mir bis jetzt noch nie so sehr aufgefallen. Es ist wirklich bedenklich, wenn man sich überlegt was für gesundheitliche Schäden das für die Personen, die die Klamotten produzieren nach sich zieht. Ich weiß trotzdem, dass ich nicht sofort aufhören werden bei allen Firmen einzukaufen, die unter schlechten Arbeitsbedingungen produzieren. Aber für mich ist das wirklich ein Anfang mehr und mehr darauf zu achten, unter was für Bedingungen Kleidungsstücke produziert wurden.
Dennoch habe ich mich dazu entschieden euch zwei der Outfits (natürlich ohne Kooperation mit der Firma) zu präsentieren, da ich sehr zufrieden mit den Fotos und der Looks der Outfits im allgemeinen bin. In diesem Outfit geht es somit eigentlich um den Romper, der kurz nach diesen Bildern an den Nähten am Ausschnitt aufgegangen ist. Für das Outfit habe ich mich für eine Kombination aus meiner Jeans Jacke und einer roten Tasche entschieden, da sie farblich perfekt zu dem Print auf dem Romper passen. Um das Outfit gemütlich und auch etwas sportlicher zu halten, habe ich hierzu noch meine weißten Adidas Superstars kombiniert. Wie gefällt euch der Look?
